Old Shand and his longterm
companion, Sylvie Dufau, were wed over the ten day period
beginning the 6th August, 1998. A truly grand event it was. The
festivities began in Dampierre-en-Yvelines and migrated to
Mauléon. Oh yeah, France.
The event was destined to be represented as many, many bits - the wedding page appearing well in advance (except on Tuesdays). In some sense the '96 Housebot Adventure was a preparatory anthropological exercise, in some sense it was just another excuse to drink in France.
I will not attempt a complete coverage of the event - Mark has collected everything from the disposal cameras provided for the luncheon guests to the retinal scans of local wildlife, and is busily classifying it. I do, however, have lots of stuff.
The ceremony itself took place in the Mayor's office, complete with Japanese and Basque music. We had to make do with the stand-in as it was August and everyone, even the Mayor, doesn't work. It was more of a legal contract with the town to be good and married.

And then there was ...
[ Stuff missing in action. So many bits, so little time. ]
