Riding back from
Newark airport after farewelling a visiting Caret-man I
spotted a truckstop which I hadn't noticed before.
Fortunately I had my trusty MPEG-Cam
with me so I captured the Hitachi
moment (1 819 978 bytes) complete with soundtrack
from the radio in the limo. The parked truck didn't have
the billowing smoke thing happening that the Fedex
Plane managed but it did have that whole inversion
thing sussed.Speaking of Fedex they once did this curious thing to me. Some time in '96 important Government and civilian documents were sent to me in Australia from New Jersey. But Fedex sent them to Austria! Not once but twice. I should have guessed something was up by how keen the Fedex dude was not to loiter and chinwag like he normally did. When I arrived in New Jersey someone introduced me to the Fedex Track It thing. As I'd kept the shipping stuff for grins I checked what Track It had to say about the little adventures. These documents had had some lost days! I can relate to that from my Lollipop days. At least I generally had a pretty good idea what country I was in (except that one time in Rome with the Bombay Sapphire I guess). I sent some e-mail to Fedex and they denied that the document holiday had ever happened. At the very least they could have given me a guided tour of the Vienna office and a plane ticket on someone else's plane. No link to them - they suck heavily. Disclaimers |
